Sarà 'Sleep When I'm Dead (Mix 13)' il terzo singolo dei Cure la cui pubblicazione è prevista per il prossimo 13 luglio. Svelato anche il titolo della b-side: 'Down Under'. Anche questa, come 'NY Trip' e 'All Kinds Of Stuff' non è inclusa nell'attesissimo album 'Dream 13' in uscita il 13 settembre.
'Sleep When I'm Dead' è stato presentato in anteprima all'Agganis Arena di Boston lo scorso 12 maggio in occasione della parte nordamericana del '4Tour'. Il brano - di livello decisamente superiore a 'The Only One' e 'Freakshow' - è ora diventato quasi un punto fermo della tracklist proposta nei concerti di questi giorni. Come i precedenti, oltre che su cd, sarà prodotto su vinile 7" e distribuito anche come digital download.

Esistono le risposte, mancano le domande. Ovvero: io, Gustavo Rol e lo ‘spirito intelligente'
Esistono più risposte che domande, più soluzioni che dubbi. Ne sono assolutamente convinto. L’umana incapacità di fondo è quella di non trovare le domande giuste da abbinare a risposte già esistenti, pronte per essere tradotte in sostanza dai nostri limiti percettivi. Pezzettini da incastrare l’uno con l’altro per comporre il puzzle del Disegno più grande che esista. Gustavo Rol, la cui figura merita senz’altro attenzione e approfondite riflessioni, così descrisse la sua teoria dello “spirito intelligente”:
“Ogni cosa ha il proprio spirito le cui caratteristiche stanno in rapporto alla funzione della cosa stessa. Quello dell’uomo però è uno “spirito intelligente” perché l’uomo sovrasta ed è in grado, per quanto lo riguarda, di regolare, se non di dominare, gli istinti che sospingono incessantemente tutto ciò che esiste e si forma. Questa prerogativa dell’uomo è sublime e tale la riconosce nel preciso istante che egli la percepisce. Ho definito “coscienza sublime” ogni impegno volto a raggiungere, sia pure attraverso la materia, dimensioni fuori della consuetudine. Ammesso che la genialità faccia ancor parte dell’istinto, i prodotti della genialità appartengono invece a quella libertà di creare che è prerogativa dello “spirito intelligente” dell’uomo, quindi ben oltre l’istinto stesso. Questa considerazione sarebbe sufficiente a comprendere l’esistenza dell’anima la quale si identifica poi in quell’armonia universale alla quale contribuisce e partecipa.

Con l’arresto di ogni attività fisica - la morte del corpo - l’anima si libera ma non interrompe la propria attività. Lo “spirito intelligente”, invece, rimane in essere e, forse, anche operante. Di questo ne ho le prove […] Il fatto di rimanere in essere si richiama al motivo - e quindi alla funzione, di ogni cosa esistente in perenne sollecitazione e travaglio. Proprio come si addice al moto creativo che non saprebbe estinguersi e nel quale ogni cosa concorre armonicamente anche nelle mutazioni più varie, Dio essendo eterno ed in inconsumabile nelle sue più prevedibili manifestazioni e sembianze.
Si fa gran caso dei miei esperimenti e li si vuole collocare tra i fenomeni dei quali si occupano tanto insigni studiosi di metapsichica e di parapsicologia. Si vorrebbe scoprire il meccanismo […]. Sono segreti, questi, che non è dato tramandare appunto perché segreti non lo sono affatto. Si possono invece intuire, proprio come è successo a me e ad altri. Questa forma di rivelazione è profonda ed altissima, tale appunto da escludere, per la sua natura, qualsiasi speculazione metafisica. […]”

Lunedì 6 novembre 1911, ore 7 del mattino: è questo il giorno in cui il barone Hermann Freiherr von Teschenberg morì a Napoli, in una stanza dell’Ospedale Internazionale. Questa scoperta è stata fatta dal giornalista italiano Claudio Critelli in collaborazione con il Comune partenopeo.
Finalmente, dopo quasi un secolo di dubbi, è quindi possibile dare una definitiva risposta a un dilemma che ha appassionato molti studiosi a livello internazionale. L’aristocratico austriaco dalla vita avventurosa nacque il 6 luglio 1866 a Teschenberg in Moravia (attualmente territorio della Repubblica Ceca). E’ famoso per avere assunto un ruolo di primo piano nel Wissenschaftlich-humanitäres Komitee [WhK] (Comitato Scientifico-Umanitario), l’organizzazione fondata a Berlino da Magnus Hirschfeld il 15 maggio 1897 con lo scopo di promuovere i diritti degli omosessuali in Germania e nel resto del mondo.
Hermann Freiherr von Teschenberg, amico di Oscar Wilde, è noto anche per aver pubblicato in rapida successione, tra il 1902 e l’anno successivo, le traduzioni autorizzate delle opere Wildiane Il Ventaglio di Lady Windermere, Una Donna Senza Importanza, Salomè, Un Marito Ideale e, soprattutto, per essere stato il primo editore dell’originale versione in quattro atti della commedia L’Importanza di Essere Onesto. Da lui tradotta in tedesco nel 1903. Fu anche tra coloro che invano tentarono di riappacificare lord Alfred Douglas con suo padre, il marchese di Queensberry.
Sebbene la scoperta della data della sua morte sia l’aspetto più rilevante, questa ricerca ha permesso di conoscere ulteriori dettagli. Tra questi la curiosa italianizzazione del suo nome di battesimo in “Armanno”.

Monday 6 November 1911, 7 a.m.: this is the day that Hermann Freiherr von Teschenberg passed away in Naples, in a room of the Ospedale Internazionale. This discovery was made by the Italian journalist Claudio Critelli, with the collaboration of the Neapolitan Municipality.
Now, after almost a century of doubts, it’s possible to give a definitive answer to a dilemma that involved many researchers worldwide. The baron, whose life was really adventurous, born on 6 July 1866 in Teschenberg, Moravia (then in Austria-Hungary, now in Czechia). He’s famous for having played a leading role in the Wissenschaftlich-humanitäres Komitee [WhK] (Scientific-Humanitarian Committee), the organization founded in Berlin by Magnus Hirschfeld on 15 May 1897 to promote the rights of homosexuals in Germany and elsewhere.
Hermann Freiherr von Teschenberg was a friend of Oscar Wilde and he’s well-known for having published , during the years 1902-1903, the Wildean works Lady Windermere’s Fan, A Woman of No Importance, Salome, An Ideal Husband and, above all, for having been the first editor of the original four-act version of the comedy The Importance of Being Earnest in its German translation. He also tried his best to reconcile Lord Alfred Douglas with his father, the Marquess of Queensberry, but without success.

L'informazione mi è giunta via lettera stamane dal solerte ufficio di Stato Civile del Comune partenopeo. Sinora questo importante dettaglio biografico era sconosciuto. Così come il fatto che nel nostro paese il suo nome era stato italianizzato in “Armanno Von Teschenberg”. Il barone austriaco, nato il 6 luglio 1866 a Teschenberg in Moravia (attualmente territorio della Repubblica Ceca), è assai noto per avere assunto un ruolo di spessore nel Wissenschaftlich-humanitäres Komitee [WhK] (Comitato Scientifico-Umanitario) - fondato a Berlino da Magnus Hirschfeld il 15 maggio 1897 per promuovere i diritti degli omosessuali in Germania - e per essere stato il primo editore nel 1903 della versione in quattro atti della commedia wildiana L’Importanza di Essere Onesto, da lui tradotta in tedesco. A letter I got this morning from the industrious Civil State Office of the Neapolitan municipality give the definitive answer to this important biographical detail unknown till now. Such as the fact that his name was italianized in “Armanno Von Teschenberg”.
The baron, born on 6 July 1866 in Teschenberg, Moravia (then in Austria-Hungary, now in Czechia), is well-known for his leading role in the Wissenschaftlich-humanitäres Komitee [WhK] (Scientific-Humanitarian Committee), an organisation - founded in Berlin by Magnus Hirschfeld on 15 May 1897 to promote the rights of homosexuals in Germany and elsewhere - and for having been the first editor of the original four-act version of the Wildean comedy The Importance of Being Earnest in its German translation. Hermann Freiherr Von Teschenberg during the period 1902-1903 also published authorized translations of Lady Windermere’s Fan, A Woman of No Importance, Salome, An Ideal Husband besides the Robert Sherard’s biography Oscar Wilde. My interest in this research was stimulated by a correspondence with Horst Schroeder, friend and well-known German author, who wrote an interesting article about the Austrian aristocratic’s life for 'The Wildean', the journal of the Oscar Wilde Society (London).
